We'll talk about the Engineering Design Process, which engages students to ask, imagine, plan, create, test & improve and share. Want to experience a STEM challenge and/or play with robots? We'll have time for that too - why should kids have all the fun?!

Have you ever wondered how to incorporate project based learning and design thinking into your curriculum?  
Our makerspace has a variety of tools that has allowed students to have hands on learning experiences.
We will discuss how learning is happening at the WHS Fab Lab through integrating curriclum, and through individual projects. 
Hear student descriptions about what this has meant to their learning.
See the projects students have created for ELA, Science, Social Studies, World Language, Art and more.  
Learn how this idea has spread to the middle school and elementary schools.

3D printing

What can 3D printing do for your classroom. Soon Medfield will have a Makerspace where students can turn imagination into reality. Learn the basic tools (Thingiverse, TinkerCAD, and Makerbot Print) used in the process as you create your own 3D print.

The session will include: examples of 3D printing that can be used in the classroom, group discussion of how to make successful prints and the pit falls of 3d printers, examples about the exciting extensions of 3D printing in the non-school world.

Be sure to bring your device!

Medfield High School Senior Zach Girard will be co-presenting at this session.
