It is no secret students love to share their ideas. What about if they had the opportunity to do so with their classroom community, school community, town, state, and the world? Allowing students to blog gives them an authentic experience to write and share ideas. Discover how one elementary teacher started the journey into student blogging. See the process she went through, receive materials she uses with students, and read through blogs students have created. Student blogging has not only given students a voice, it allows for personalized learning. Each individual student receives specific feedback on blogs which helps him/her grow as writers. Grammar and typing skills improve! Students have also learned about the importance of citing sources and using images from Creative Commons. The possibilities of what student blogging brings to the classroom are endless!
