This is a hands-on workshop that helps partcipants get started with issuing badges in their classrooms. Badges are a growing tool for issuing credentials to students and can be a source for recognizing achievements everyday. The workshop will briefly cover the reasons why badges work and then participants will led through a process to help them create a badge list that is unique to their class and create badges to recognize their students. Focus will be on the process but tools will be introduced to help make the process easier.

MJ Linane is a high school history teacher, blogger, and online instructional designer. MJ was a recipient of the 2015 MassCUE Pathfinder award for his work with blended learning and gamification. He is a contributor to Edsurge, Smarter Schools and a contributing author to the book, Gamifying Literacy. MJ loves to help other teachers design interactive and engaging online lessons
